Good Afternoon!
We had a guest teacher in math. She led the students through a problem solving page, spending a lot of time on their thinking process. The class was very attentive and worked hard, even after a full hour of math with our Frank Lloyd Wright program!
Language Arts is going very well. We have fully embraced the Daily 5 / Cafe model of instruction. The students are becoming independent workers, focusing on their own reading goals each day. Our 2 hour block just flies by!

I think we should read the following books
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have a LOT of books so here they are:
· War Horse by: Michael Morpurgo
· The Penderwicks by: Jeanne Birdsall
· Out of my Mind by: Sharon M. Draper
· Heartbeat by: (my favorite author) Sharon Creech
· Yellow Star by: Jennifer Roy
· The Secret Zoo by: Bryan Chick
· Mr.Popper's Penguins by: Richard and Florence Atwater
· The Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs by: Betty G. Birney
I have read all these books and own them. They are all great discussion books. I hope you like them!!! Z.H.
The Penderwicks is a really good book (Except it's realistic fiction)
