Today we celebrated Kenya Connect.  The entire fifth grade class raised over $2000 to help Sophia Primary School in Kenya.  Congratulations to all the fifth graders.  We are very proud of them all!  To raise that much money, they read a multitude of books.
We spent time this morning traveling through stations, learning about Kenya. Mrs. Hurt shared her experiences and pictures of Africa.  Mrs. Lapham set up a Kenya marketplace in her room where students could experience the art of bartering.  Mrs. Yaniz taught all the 5th graders how to play Mancala and Mrs. Potempa helped them write a poem about Kenya.  I was in charge of recording it all in photographs.

Homework for tonight:

Reading -
read 20 minutes
study for spelling test tomorrow
Homophone worksheet due tomorrow

Math -
2 dimensional shapes packet due Monday
Vocabulary quiz on Monday

Social Studies
SQ2R on Chapter 7 lesson 2 due tomorrow

Thank you to the parents that have volunteered to make poundcake for our Colonial Day Feast next Thursday or to help serve and clean up.  I appreciate it!

Enjoy your evening!
