Happy Friday!

Tuesday, the AT math students will have a working lunch with Mike Byster.  If you send a lunch from home, please be sure it is peanut-free. Thank you!

Tuesday is also the first 5th grade band concert of the year!  Students need to bring their instrument and music stand to school for after school band.  Please note - after school band will be at Schiesher, not at the High School on Tuesday.

We had a beautiful stroll to the JH this afternoon and enjoyed the student production of Stuart Little.  Our class was very well behaved and really enjoyed themselves.

Mid-week already!

Tomorrow is our field trip to the JH to see their production of Stuart Little.  Students do not need a permission slip as we will walk to the junior high and back to Schiesher.  However, if you prefer your child not attend, please sign the form that went home earlier this week and return it to school tomorrow.

Happy Monday!

Even though it is cold outside, the sun is shining so it is a good day!  The students had the option of indoor or outdoor recess today.  My class seemed fairly evenly split between the two options.

We are heading into a busy time.

DARE persmission slips due tomorrow.  We begin DARE on Wednesday.

Science Fair topics due Friday.  Remember that your topic must be posed as a question.  If you need an additional form, they are linked both on my webpage and the 5th grade webpage.

Students should have keep their resources for their Career Project at school.  We will be working on it for one rotation a day for the next two weeks.  If they don't have the materials here, they are not able to complete the work!

MAP testing is Wednesday (homeroom).  This week is Reading; next week is Math.

BAND is tomorrow.

Today just flew by!  The students are fully back into the swing of everything.

Several important papers went home today.

Band started today!  At 2:30, after math, students loaded a bus for the high school.  The students remaining were able to use the additional time as a study hall, working on homework, reading or doing some research on the computer.

Welcome back!
I hope everyone had a fabulous winter break with time to visit with family and friends, read books, play games, and be lazy.  I know I did!

However, we are back full swing already!

5th grade is beginning a Career Research project.  The full packet is on my District 202 website, if you would like to see it all.  It is broken down into pieces, which will be posted as homework.

Additionally, students have a science fair project to work on at home.  The information for that is linked to my District 202 webpage as well.  Students will bring their packet home on Wednesday.
