CN - interesting question... think about how in algebra, we say what you do to one side, you must do to the other. If you move the decimal over one spot in the divisor, you must move it over in the dividend as well. Then the quotient will already be correct. Another way to check is to estimate. 16 divided by 3.2...16 divided by 3 is more than 5, so 16 divided by 3.2 will be around 5. To answer your question more directly - as long as you move the decimal over in both parts of the problem, you do not need to move it again for the answer.
