The students began their social studies presentations today. I enjoyed listening to what they have learned the past few weeks.
Language Arts:
We began an independent study project today. Students (independently or in a small group) chose a topic to research today and tomorrow. They will then have 2 days of class time to create the presentation of their choice. There are quite a few topics being explored right now!
Battle of the Books is due Friday.
Gauntlet books are due Friday.
Final Blog post is due Friday.
Math:
Workbook page 252 (worksheet) is due tomorrow
Social Studies:
We will continue to hear social studies presentations the next two days.

Wear Red, White and Blue tomorrow!!!

Poetry Café was a huge success! Thank you to the parents that were able to attend. The students really enjoyed sharing their poetry with you.
I loved our Friday music today. Visualize the boys from our classroom up front dancing...while the girls danced in the back of the room. It brought a great big smile to my face.

The math students did a phenomenal job with their design projects. We even had two guests in the room to listen to their proposals!
Language Arts students have been hard at work getting their poetry ready for Friday's Poetry Café.

I am so glad it is Friday. Today was super fun - and I am exhausted!
There are so many special events at the end of the school year. Today we were visited by Harriet Tubman. She shared her experiences with the Underground Railroad. The students seemed to really enjoy hearing her talk about her experiences. It makes it so much more real when she is up close and personal!

Math:
Presentations, reflections, proposals, budget and supply list are all due Monday.
Social Studies:
We will continue researching throughout next week.
